Goodwill buys its suburban Tampa real estate for almost $17 million – Tampa Bay Business Journal
Goodwill-Industries Suncoast Inc. now owns the suburban Tampa real estate where it recently opened its 20th retail location and a new distribution center.
Goodwill paid $16.86 million for the property at 1407 S. U.S. Hwy 301 in a deal that closed May 8, according to a Hillsborough County deed filed Friday.
The seller of the property was Project Harvest of Tampa Florida LLC.
The property is home to a 12,000-square-foot retail store, the first Goodwill has opened in Hillsborough County since 2002, Goodwill said when announcing its hiring push for the location. Together, the store and distribution center were expected to create 35 jobs.
The store opened on April 28 and includes a drive-thru donation lane.
A 200,000-square-foot distribution center is also housed at this location; Goodwill moved its logistics and transportation operations to this site from Gandy Boulevard in St. Petersburg.
